Ice Cream Machine Exploration Demo Video
Description: Students will program an ice cream machine to print ice cream cones with different numbers and sizes of ice cream scoops. They will work with variables and modules so that they’ll be ready to print any order that comes their way. They will also use a function that calculates the cost of a particular ice cream cone based on the volume of the spherical ice cream scoops.
Standards:
CC 8.G.9: Know the formulas for the volume of cones, cylinders, and spheres and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems.
CSTA 2-AP-11: Create clearly named variables that represent different data types and perform operations on their values
CSTA 2-AP-13: Decompose problems and subproblems into parts to facilitate the design, implementation, and review of programs
CSTA 2-AP-14: Create procedures with parameters to organize code and make it easier to reuse
